Notes to Application for Student's Pass Our reputation for honesty and fair dealing is such that NYU has never been involved in any court proceeding of any kind, in the many years that we have been established. Unfortunately, this is not the case with a number of other private schools operating in Singapore. As a result, the government has established the Student Protection Scheme (SPS) to ensure that your tuition fees are protected. This scheme takes effect from 1 Dec 2004. All foreign students applying for a private pass are protected by the SPS. The private school will enter into a contract with you called the Standard Student Contract. The Contract may be different from school to school, so read it carefully before signing. You will also need to submit the Student Escrow Confirmation with your student's pass application.
