Studying In Singapore

As a foreign student in Singapore, you will need a student’s pass. We will apply for a student’s pass that will enable you to study and live in Singapore for the duration of your course. This service is free of charge.

Your student’s pass application will be handled by the school. We will prepare the necessary documents for submission to ICA.

Documents

If this is your first application for a student's pass, you will have to submit photocopies of the following documents with your application. You need not supply the originals. If your student's pass is approved, however, you will have to submit the original documents for checking before you can collect your student's pass. Please note that the same name must be used on all documents. If some of your documents are in a different name, ICA requires you to submit a change-of-name certificate.

  • Copies of educational certificates and report cards. If the certificates are written in a language other than English, Chinese, Bahasa Malaysia or Bahasa Indonesia, an English translation is required.
  • Birth certificate. If the certificate is written in a language other than English, Chinese, Bahasa Malaysia or Bahasa Indonesia, an English translation is required.
  • One recent passport photo.
  • Student's passport.
  • If parents are divorced, a custody certificate for the student is required.
  • Bank statement for students from level III countries as defined by ICA - China, Russia, Philippines, Mongolia, India and Vietnam. The statement should show at least S$10000 and preferably more in the account.

Security Deposit

Foreign students are required by Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) to pay a security deposit, either in the form of a banker's guarantee or cashier's order, before a student's pass can be issued. The deposit will be refunded upon termination of the student's pass. The amount of the security deposit will depend on your nationality.
